Second volume in a series from the German Gee Dee label, once again delivering a bucketful of great 60's European instros from the deep well of music that is largely untapped here in the U.S. Features 20 tracks from bands like the Electronics from Spain, Blue Rhythms from the Netherlands, and a bunch from Germany. As the liner notes say, most of these combos only had one or two releases before heading into musical oblivion. The sounds on this collection all share the Euro guitar sound - more of an echoey Shadows style rather than the heavy reverb blasting out of the California coast at the time. On Black River Jump, guitarist Paul Wurges sounds like a German Duane Eddy (actually he was once designated the German Bill Haley because of his stage appearance and style). The Moon Riders display a bit of a Ventures In Space sound here on tunes like Moon Beat and Moon Riders. And speaking of the Ventures, the Rascals run on all-cylinders on their version of Walk Don't Run as one of the two last tracks on the disc. Fun cover art from Sebastian Hartmann too.
